Lindsay Lohan isn’t trying to kick her drug habit the old fashioned way. Lindsay is receiving help from a new highly controversial anti-addiction treatment.

“A source told Star that Lindsay will be under the care of Matthew Torrington, M.D., medical director of the PROMETA Center, an outpatient clinic in Santa Monica specializing in treating alcohol, cocaine and metamphetamine (crystal meth) addictions.

The PROMETA system is at the center of a major controversy within the medical community though. “In my clinical experience, I have found the treatment to be very, very effective and an incredible aid to people who are suffering,” Dr. Torrington tells Star, but the lack of accepted clinical testing, say some critics, raises many troubling questions about the PROMETA program.

“At this time, there is no peer-reviewed research that has been done on the treatment,” David Kan, M.D., a substance-abuse expert at the VA Medical Center in San Francisco, tells Star. “There is also no evidence to suggest it is productive.”

Lindsay Lohan is planning to complete one of the requisite steps of post-rehab: celebrating New Year’s in a Las Vegas nightclub. No temptation there!

Lilo is going to host a bash at new hot spot LAX. “Lindsay doesn’t necessarily want to host, but she’s contractually obligated,” Dina a source tells Us Weekly. Linds took on the gig in order to pay back the “hundreds of thousands of dollars” she got by agreeing to host her 21st birthday at sister club, PURE — on which she reneged because she then entered rehab (which probably drained those “hundreds of thousands of dollars”).

I hope Lindsay has more willpower than I do. I vowed to cut alcohol out of my diet to get into bathing suit shape for New Year’s (Rio, here I come!) — and a mere two days after my steadfast vow, I was watching TV and thought, “This would be much more entertaining with a bottle of wine.” So I popped open a bottle of Cab. Yup, I have the willpower of a pile of Jell-O. Oh, well. That’s what skirted Miraclesuits are for.

Steve-O went on Howard Stern yesterday and talked about how Lindsay Lohan stole his cocaine.

The freaky comic, who laughed uncontrollably while saying he likes to inhale nitrous oxide from whipped cream cans, said Lohan took what he called the “Boog Suge” from him after she forgot her wallet in his bathroom and came back to his place to get it. There’s even proof she was there - Lohan had to sign a release while at Steve-O’s house for a DVD he was filming at the time.

The story isn’t that Lindsay Lohan does coke because we all know she’d snort rails from a dirty ashtray. The story is that they’re calling Steve-O a comic. Nailing your balls to a piece of wood and setting your hair on fire makes you retarded, not a comic. The little boy that rides down my street in a pink bicycle and orange helmet is funnier than Steve-O. Especially when I throw a stick in between the spokes of his bicycle. It’s hilarious. At least I think so. The neighbors just stand there looking shocked. I guess they don’t get the joke.

And TMZ reported, Lilo went to the mini mall to work out at the Gold's Gym. And she bought a $20 spray-on tan from there. I wonder how it will look like if there is rain?

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has been dubbed "a model patient" by insiders at the Utah rehab clinic she checked into last month, despite claims to the contrary.

In a TV exclusive that aired on Friday's Entertainment Tonight, a silhouetted former Cirque Lodge patient suggested the actress is getting celebrity treatment from carers and is difficult with staff.

Despite a patient from the same rehab clinic saying Lohan was disruptive and given special treatment; new reports say that Lohan is taking her third stay in rehab very serious and is very cooperative.

Insiders at the clinic insist the 21-year-old actress is doing great, attending all the meetings, and agreeing to all tasks the staff give her including cleaning toilets and washing dishes.

Source say that the women who claimed Lohan was making everyone else uncomfortable dropped out of the clinic “against medical advice” and wasn’t even in the same section of the clinic as Lohan is. They say the only time she could have had contact with Lohan was during meetings.

A tape of the frantic emergency call that led to the arrest of Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan has been released by US officials.

The woman who phoned the police was named locally as Michelle Peck, the mother of Lohan's former personal assistant Tarin Graham, who had quit that day. Peck pleaded for help because a mysterious car was following her in Santa Monica in California in the early hours on Tuesday.

But she was unaware that Lohan, accompanied by two male passengers, was the one who was behind the wheel of the other vehicle. Peck told the dispatcher: "We were just about to park our car. We are turning home and out of nowhere a huge white GMC came up.

"We're being followed by a GMC. Oh my God sir, they're following us. We need help."

Officers said Peck had driven into a car park near the Santa Monica Police Department, followed by Lohan in her sport utility vehicle.

During the call, Peck could be heard saying "Oh my God, what is he doing?" thinking the driver was a man. Near the end, hysterical yelling and screaming was heard.

Police who arrived at the scene then saw Lohan and Peck in "heated debate." They confirmed two men were with Lohan in her car.

Lohan was held on suspicion of drink-driving, possession of cocaine, bringing a controlled substance into custody and driving on a suspended license. The star had just left rehab and was wearing an alcohol-monitoring device on her ankle. She was later released on bail. She was released after posting a $25,000 (£12,100) bond.

If convicted, she could face more than a year in jail.

Coming home after two long trips to rehab and with a plethora of legal problems ahead of her already troubled career, Lindsay Lohan has claimed that she can't be held responsible for her arrest, in an e-mail sent to 'Access Hollywood' host Billy Bush. She has declined that the cocaine that the cops found from her possession, belonged to her.

According to Maxim magazine, at least this month, Lindsay Lohan the hottest woman in the world.

The “Georgia Rule” actress-troublemaker tops the magazine’s eighth annual “Hot 100″ list, a ranking by editors weighing buzz and beauty for women in film, TV, music, sports and fashion. “There is no other star in the world (who) causes more of a stir in the public eye than Lindsay,” said Maxim Editor in Chief Jimmy Jellinek in a statement. “Her every move is watched and reported on.”

Not surprisingly, Jellinek described his young, male readership as being “obsessed” with the 20-year-old Lohan, a ubiquitous party girl who spent the weekend soaking up the sun (with a new boyfriend) in the Bahamas.

Jessica Alba had to settle with the No. 2 on the list, which is in the magazine hitting stands Saturday. She’s followed, in order, by Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Biel, Ali Larter, Eva Mendes, Rihanna, Eva Longoria, Fergie, Sienna Miller, Angelina Jolie, Beyonce Knowles and Katherine Heigl.

Lindsay Lohan promises to reveal "a lot more" playing a stripper in her new movie.

Lindsay told talk show show host David Letterman: "You'll be seeing a lot more of me in this movie. It's a really dark, scary film." She also said: "I want to get a nomination. I want to win an Oscar. I want to be known for more than, like, going out. I bust my ass when I'm filming and when I have time off, yeah, I like to go out and dance."

The 20-year-old star will portray a pole-dancing stripper who is kidnapped, tortured and has her legs cut off in "I Know Who Killed Me."

"I Know Who Killed Me" will be released on July 27.

On July 2, 2007, tabloid queen Lindsay Lohan will be turning 21 years old. To celebrate, she plans on throwing a monumental birthday bash in Las Vegas:

Lohan said turning 21 has “been a long time coming” for her friends who own clubs in Los Angeles. After she’s legal, “they don’t have to worry about getting into trouble,” for letting her inside, she told host Ellen DeGeneres.

This is an amusing idea. It’s no secret Lindsay has been drinking, partying, and doing drugs since she was a young teenager conquering Hollywood. And while most kids celebrate their 21st birthday by getting really drunk, doing 21 shots, partying til dawn, this is how Lohan has been spending the majority of her waking life for so many years. We can’t divulge what Lohan was allegedly caught doing, but if true, it won’t sit well with her younger fans. Apparently, all the naughtiness went down last week at a party at a private house in Beverly Hills that was also attended by her frenemy Paris Hilton, shipping heir Stavros Niarchos and Ryan Seacrest. At one point, the party was disrupted by a huge rat that ran into several rooms, causing revelers to scream, drop their drinks and run, until Niarchos kicked the rodent out onto a balcony. Lindsay Lohan Blames The Paparazzi For Her Lack Of An Oscar

In her interview with Nylon magazine, Lindsay Lohan claims she's more famous than Madonna and gets more attention than her from the paparazzi. She says:

"I said the other day, 'I feel like they hound me more than they hound Madonna and she's someone I've always aspired to be like.'"

She also adds that the paparazzi are what's preventing her from getting an Academy Award because they keep distracting her from her work. She says:

"The thing about the press and why they need to leave me the [bleep] alone for a little bit is because I don't want that distraction from my work. I want to get a nomination. I want to win an Oscar. I want to be known for more than, like, going out. For being 'the party girl.' I hate that. I bust my [bleep] when I'm filming, and when I gave time off, yeah, I like to go out and dance."

Lindsay Lohan could be the last living actress on Earth and she still wouldn't get an Academy Award. She'd be the only nominee, and when it came time to announce the winner they'd end up giving it to a potted plant in the corner.

Keira Knightley and Lindsay Lohan have fallen out after the 20-year-old American actress pulled out of Keira's new film The Best Time Of Our Lives, a dramatic biopic of Welsh bard Dylan Thomas.

According to sources on set Lohan, right, who has just finished a spell in rehab, quit days before filming was due to start.

Keira, left, whose mother Sharman Macdonald wrote the screenplay, is said to be 'furious' because she was instrumental in getting the Mean Girls star to play Thomas's wife Caitlin MacNamara.

The film tells the story of William Killick, who tried to kill Thomas because he believed he was having an affair with his wife, Vera, played by Keira.

Movie insiders predicted a box office hit because of the lesbian love scenes between Keira and Lindsay, who were also due to film a steamy threesome with the poet, played by Matthew Rhys.

Controversy
On July 26, 2006, it was reported that James G. Robinson, the head of production company Morgan Creek Productions, sent a letter to star Lindsay Lohan in response to all the time Lohan has missed shooting. While Lohan's agents claim she didn't come to the set because of "heat exhaustion", Robinson stated "We are well aware that your ongoing all night heavy partying is the real reason for your so called 'exhaustion.'" Robinson also stated Lohan "acted like a spoiled child and in doing so have alienated many of your co-workers and endangered the quality of this picture." Robinson warned Lohan that she will be held "personally accountable" for losses caused by her actions, and claims that Lohan's behavior has already "resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage

Chapter 27
Chapter 27 is an independent film depicting the assassination of John Lennon by Mark David Chapman. J. P. Schaefer, making his directorial debut, also wrote the script. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2007 and the Berlin Film Festival in February. Though savaged by most critics, who described the movie as a vanity project lacking in insight, it did receive positive reviews in Salon, The Hollywood Reporter, and Entertainment Weekly. The film has yet to land a U.S. distributor, but has been picked up for theatrical distribution in Europe, Asia, and South America.

Plot and Title

The movie is intended to be a deep exploration of Chapman's psyche, without putting substantial emphasis on the murder. The title "Chapter 27" suggests a continuation of J.D. Salinger's classic novel The Catcher in the Rye, which ends on chapter 26. Chapman attempted to model his life after Holden Caulfield, the main character of the book and was carrying a copy when he shot Lennon.

According to the prestigious Spanish-language newsweekly Proceso [1], and other Latin American publications, the title was also inspired by Chapter 27 in Robert Rosen's book Nowhere Man: The Final Days of John Lennon, which explores the numerological meaning of 27, “the triple 9,” a number of profound importance to John Lennon, who was obsessed with numerology, Cheiro’s Book of Numbers, and 9 and all its multiples. Lennon, born October 9, 1940—his son Sean Lennon was born October 9, 1975, his wife Yoko Ono was born February 18, 1933, and his songwriting partner with the Beatles, Paul McCartney, was born June 18, 1942—wrote such songs as Revolution 9, Number 9 Dream, and One After 909, and was essentially reborn as an American when, after a long legal battle, he received his green card on July 27, 1976. Though Lennon was murdered around 11 p.m. on December 8, 1980, it was already December 9 in England, the country of his birth. It was Chapman’s goal, according to Rosen, to write Chapter 27 "in Lennon’s blood."

The plot of the movie itself was drawn from the Chapman biography Let Me Take You Down, by Jack Jones, who is given a screen credit. Let Me Take You Down, however, provides no information on the numerological meaning of Chapter 27, and fails to show how Chapter 27 played into the heart of Lennon’s obsession with numerology, Cheiro, the number 9, and all its multiples.

Jared Leto will play Chapman. In addition to Leto, Lindsay Lohan agreed to star in the movie as Jude for a lucrative $29 million dollars, a friend of Chapman's. Michael Moon has also agreed to co-star in the movie. Production began on January 9th with much controversy and has since then resumed until March 2006. John Lennon is portrayed by Mark Lindsay Chapman, an actor who has portrayed Lennon once before. His name is purely coincidental.

A Prairie Home Companion (previously known as The Last Broadcast) is a 2006 ensemble comedy film elegy directed by Robert Altman, his final film released just five months before his death. It is based on A Prairie Home Companion, a program broadcast on public radio stations in the United States and elsewhere. The film is a fictional representation of behind-the-scenes activities on a long-running radio show that has unexpectedly been cancelled.

It stars the show's creator, Garrison Keillor, who wrote the screenplay and plays himself. It also features:

Production notes
Principal photography for the film began on June 29, 2005 at the Fitzgerald Theater in Saint Paul, Minnesota (the usual venue for the radio show). Filming ended on July 28, 2005. Because the Fitzgerald is a rather small building, other stage theaters in the Minneapolis-St. Paul region had been considered as stand-ins. With some effort, the necessary film equipment was crammed into the structure. The basement was also used for sets due to lack of space. Set design also had to make the show more visually interesting, and fake dressing rooms were used in the film (the movie's production designer noted that Keillor's actual dressing room is "about the size of a very, very small bathroom"). Mickey's Diner, a landmark of downtown St. Paul, is also featured.

On November 1, 2005, the Star Tribune reported that an early screening in New York City for film distributors resulted in a heavy bidding war. Picturehouse bought the rights, and company President Bob Berney, "aiming to capitalize on the name recognition of the 31-year-old radio program, recommended that the title revert to A Prairie Home Companion. 'At the screening, Garrison said that to broaden the film's appeal, they were thinking about changing the name to Savage Love, so we may have an argument there,' Berney said." The main potential audience for the film is people familiar with the radio program.

Critical response
The general reaction to the film by critics has been favorable, as it has garnered an 80% "fresh" rating at Rotten Tomatoes, a site that tallies prominent reviews. Roger Ebert awarded the film four out of four stars, saying, "What a lovely film this is, so gentle and whimsical, so simple and profound."

It has had its detractors, however. The controversial film critic Michael Medved gave the film one and a half stars (out of four) saying, "The entertainment value stands somewhere between thin and non-existent" and, "[it may be] the worst movie ever made that pooled the talents of four (count ‘em - four!) Oscar winners"

Desson Thomson from The Washington Post came between the two, saying that while the movie had its strengths, it was weaker than it should have been, in a review headlined "Honey, You Could Ask For More" (a reference to the opening theme song of the radio show and film).

Meryl Streep won the Best Supporting Actress Award from the National Society of Film Critics for her role in this and The Devil Wears Prada; Altman was also posthumously nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Director.

Box office
The film had a successful limited release in the States and grossed $20,252,121.

Bobby (2006 film)
Bobby is a Golden Globe Award-nominated drama film written and directed by Emilio Estevez. The film features an ensemble cast and is a fictional account of the lives of several people present during the final hours in the life of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy, a former candidate for President of the United States, on June 6, 1968.

Bobby was released in New York and Los Angeles on November 17, 2006; wide release followed on November 23, one day after the 43rd anniversary of the assassination of Robert's brother. It premiered at the Venice Film Festival, where it received a seven-minute-long standing ovation.

Plot and characters
A fictional account of the Ambassador Hotel on the day Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated, Bobby recreates the ambience and themes of 1968, and invokes the hopes killed with Kennedy, by portraying this day in the life of 24 characters. To tell the story it uses the ensemble plot device of the Grand Hotel (film) (1932).

Anthony Hopkins stars as the retired but ever-present doorman at The Ambassador Hotel. Lindsay Lohan and Elijah Wood appear as a couple opposed to the Vietnam War who get married so Wood's character can avoid being sent to Vietnam and possible combat duty.

Emilio Estevez and Demi Moore play married entertainers on the downside of their careers.

Sharon Stone plays a beautician married to the hotel's manager (William H. Macy), who clashes with his food and beverage manager (Christian Slater) who oversees a chef (Laurence Fishburne) and busboys (Freddy Rodriguez and Jacob Vargas). Other hotel staff portrayed are two hotel phone operators (Heather Graham and Joy Bryant). Helen Hunt and Martin Sheen (Estevez's father in real life) portray married socialites and Kennedy campaign donors staying at the hotel.

Joshua Jackson (Emilio Estevez's co-star in the The Mighty Ducks trilogy), Nick Cannon, Brian Geraghty, and Shia LaBeouf play Kennedy volunteers; the latter two vie for the affection of a waitress played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead and are willingly distracted by a drugdealer (Ashton Kutcher). A Czech reporter (Svetlana Metkina) fails to get the volunteers to grant her an interview with Kennedy. Harry Belafonte rounds out the ensemble as the ex-doorman's retired friend.

Soundtrack
The film's soundtrack is primarily a compilation of music from the 1960s. The two newly recorded tracks are "Louie Louie", sung by Demi Moore, and "Never Gonna Break my Faith", written by Bryan Adams, Elliot Kennedy and Andrea Remanda, and sung by Aretha Franklin and Mary J. Blige.

Reviews
Michael Medved gave the film Bobby three stars (out of four) calling the film "intriguing but imperfect." Medved added that "I can confirm that director/writer Emilio Estevez gets most of the feelings of the occasion right. But, the melodramatic, multi-character format proves somewhat uneven and distracting." Medved is unique amongst film critics in that he (at the time, a young Kennedy campaign volunteer) was present in the ballroom of the Ambassador Hotel when Senator Kennedy was assassinated.

This movie got a seven minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival. Lou Lomenick of The New York Post gave the film "Bobby" one (out of four) stars saying that it was just another rip-off of a much better film, 1975's Nashville. Dan Hall of UK site Mansized gave the film three out of five stars, calling the film "a worthy work of faction that successfully recreates the sense of political optimism that Kennedy’s assault on the White House caused."

Historical accuracy
While Bobby is a work of fiction, the film contains some historically accurate representations. Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated after midnight on June 5, 1968, in the kitchen of the Ambassador Hotel following his California Democratic primary election victory speech. In addition to Kennedy, five other people were shot, all of whom survived. Some valid political elements of his candidacy are shown. The title role of the film is almost entirely played by RFK himself. Spliced between, throughout, and within many scenes, is a patchwork of archival footage and radio broadcasts and photos of his presidential campaign along with other images and sounds of the Kennedy family, news broadcasts, and the 60s in general. A few characters may draw on the stories of real people. Paul Ebbers (William H. Macy) and Virginia Fallon (Demi Moore) may be based on Karl Uecker and Rosemary Clooney (George Clooney's aunt) respectively. Both of them were present at RFK's assassination. However, most characters and their entwining plots are fictitious, representing late 60's archetypes. The five other people shot are fictional.

Bobby does not attempt to present the RFK assassinationexactly as it occurred, nor does it offer any analysis of the murder. The five bystanders actually wounded are not portrayed, nor are most of the key people who were present (George Plimpton, Rosey Grier, Rafer Johnson, Andrew West, James Scott Enyart, Thane Eugene Cesar, David Sanchez Morales, Paul Sharaga, Sandy Serrano, etc.) There is no treatment of any conspiracy theories of whether Sirhan Sirhan acted alone, nor what his motives were. His nationality, RFK's stance on Israel, etc. are not even hinted. There is no mention of the CIA, nor of any anti-Kennedy sentiment held by any individuals, groups, or organizations.

Just My Luck is a romantic comedy film starring Lindsay Lohan (The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, and Mean Girls) and Chris Pine (The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement) released in the US on May 12, 2006. Lohan has described the film as "a little bit of an over-the-top comedy, but it's funny and it's cute and it's silly." It is rated PG-13 in the US, and PG in the UK and Australia.

Lohan plays a ultra lucky Manhattan girl, Ashley. When asked about her character, Lohan said "She takes advantage of the fact that she has luck, and she does not recognize it and is not thankful, [then] everything just basically goes downhill for her." Chris Pine plays the role of, Jake, a music manager in the film, overseeing the pop-band McFly (Danny Jones, Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd), played by themselves. The band played two live concerts, which were filmed for use in the movie. McFly also has dialogue.

Ashley (Lindsay Lohan) is the luckiest woman in New York City while Jake (Chris Pine) is one of the unluckiest men, with one bad event happening after another. After kissing Jake at a masquerade ball she organized for a client, Ashley realizes she's swapped her good fortune in turn for Jake's bad luck. Ashley loses her job and her apartment while Jake receives a brand new apartment and a record deal for his band, McFly. Ashley tries to find Jake again to kiss him and therefore regain her luck.

However, Jake was masked, so she does not know what he looks like so she kisses all men who could be him (including all the male dancers at the ball, whom Jake was pretending to be in order to get into the ball), and tests whether he is the right one by scratching a gambling scratchcard. After giving up, they meet in a cafe after Ashley is covered in mud and has no money for food. Jake feels sympathy for Ashley because he has been unlucky himself. After a while she realizes that it was Jake who was at the ball, and regains her luck by kissing him again. Later, at a concert managed by Jake, where things go wrong due to Jake's newly regained bad luck, she feels sorry for him and kisses him again to transfer the luck. Ashley has feelings for Jake, but thinks that a relationship would not work because they would have to kiss. She is about to leave New York to visit her parents for a while when Jake shows up at Grand Central Station after finding out about the kisses transferring luck. He convinces her to stay and says having her is worth more than being lucky all the time. Eventually they both kiss Jake's younger cousin on opposite cheeks at the same time.

To date, the film has grossed over $30 million worldwide on a relatively low budget. The film was panned by critics and Lohan was nominated for a Razzie Award for Worst Actress in 2007.

Herbie: Fully Loaded is a 2005 film by Walt Disney Pictures, starring Lindsay Lohan alongside Michael Keaton, Matt Dillon, Breckin Meyer and Justin Long. The movie features many NASCAR drivers, including Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Mark Martin, and more. It is the first theatrical "Herbie" film since Herbie Goes Bananas in 1980.

Plot

During the opening credits we are reintroduced to the once famous Herbie - The Love Bug. We see shots from the various Herbie movies and learn that he was once a great race car. We then learn that he slowly fell upon hard times. He was no longer competitive and we are left to wonder where he is now. We then cut to the present day and see a truck delivering Herbie to a wrecking yard. Herbie is in bad shape. He sees other cars being demolished and puts up a fight when they try to unload it.

We then see a college graduation ceremony. Maggie Peyton (Lindsay Lohan) almost misses the ceremony but skateboards up at the last second and receives her diploma. After the ceremony she sees her best friend pull up in a fancy new car, a graduation present. We then learn Maggie's story. Maggie will be spending the next few weeks living back at home with her dad, Ray Peyton (Michael Keaton), owner of the Peyton Racing team. His father started the team, Ray made it famous and now Maggie's brother Ray Jr. (Breckin Meyer) is the driver. The Peyton Racing Team has been in a slump. Truth be told, Ray Jr just isn't a very good racer. They are slowly losing their sponsorships and may have to close up shop.

Growing up a Peyton, Maggie was once a great "Street Racer" but an accident in High School put an end to all that. Her father refuses to let Maggie race again. Instead, Maggie is soon to be heading to New York to work as an assistant producer for ESPN. Ray decides to get a car for Maggie as a graduation present but since they don't have much money, all he can do is bring her to the junk yard and tells her to pick out whatever she wants. She goes from car to car, never really seeing Herbie although Herbie keeps trying to get her attention while he's being lifted to the crusher. Finally, just as she chooses a car, Herbie drops down right on top of it. Frustrated, Maggie just says, I'll give you fifty for the bug. She pays the wrecker and her dad tells her to bring the car to his shop and they'll check it out.

As soon as Maggie gets inside the car the glove compartment opens revealing a letter asking the new owner to please take care of Herbie. Herbie now takes control and gives a screaming Maggie a wild ride through the back streets of the town, ending up in a garage of an old high school buddy of Maggie, Kevin (Justin Long). Kevin was Maggie's mechanic during all her street racing days. Kevin agrees to help fix up Herbie and gets in with Maggie to for a test drive. Herbie takes over and races through town, bringing them to a car show featuring the current Nascar champion, Trip Murphy (Matt Dillon). While there, Herbie sprays oil on Maggie's shirt (oil spraying is Herbie's favorite trick as he does it throughout the movie). Luckily there is a racing jumpsuit and helmet in the trunk so Maggie changes into the suit. Herbie knocks Maggie into the helmet (that says Max on it) and when she drives away Herbie extends his side mirror causing it to scratch Trip's fancy street car.

A pissed off Trip confronts "Max" and somehow there is a street race challenge between the two of them. Herbie takes over as Maggie just kind of screams during the race but eventually she learns to control the car and uses an impressive skateboard maneuver, riding the rail of a fence to pass Trip and win the challenge. ESPN is there and films the whole thing. Later that day, back at home, her dad's main sponsor Sally (Cheryl Hines) brings by a tape of the race to show Ray just for laughs. No one likes Trip so she thought it would be funny. Instead, Ray sees Herbie winning the race and confronts Maggie but Maggie swears that it was her friend Max driving the car.

Back at his shop, Trip just can't stop thinking about Herbie and how he lost to a Volkswagen. He decides to have a rematch. He sponsors a $10,000 challenge to all street racers. It's a 2 day event. The first day finding the local street champ, then the 2nd day Trip will challenge that champ to a match race. Kevin and Maggie restore Herbie so he's now looking sharp, ready for action. "Max" races and wins the first day of competition. That night Trip approaches Maggie and lets her drive his Nascar car so she can see what a real car feels like.

While she's out driving he inspects Herbie but Herbie just does a lot of oil spitting type of practical jokes on him. Maggie returns and Trip offers her a deal. If Maggie wins, she can have the Nascar car. If Trip wins, he gets Herbie. (Trip knows who the real Max is) Maggie agrees but Herbie doesn't like it.

The next day a dejected Herbie driven by "Max" and Trip in his street racer line up. There is a huge crowd there including Ray and Ray Jr. The race begins and it's back and forth. Finally Herbie takes the lead going down to the finish and Maggie shouts out that she wants to win the Nascar! Herbie is pissed and slams on the brakes right before the finish line. Trip passes them and wins. The crowd is shocked! They are even more shocked when "Max" steps out of the car and takes off his helmet revealing that it is actually Maggie. A stunned Ray leaves the race track in disgust. He can't believe that Maggie had lied to him.

Trip loads up Herbie and takes him away.Maggie can't believe what she has done. She can't believe that she has let her father, Kevin and especially Herbie down. She approaches Trip to buy the car back but it's too late; he has sold Herbie to the owner of the local demolition derby. Maggie heads out to the Derby and is shocked to see a trembling Herbie in the middle of the ring, ready to be demolished. The owner says that if Herbie survives in one piece, she can have him. Maggie rushes out to the rings, dodging cars as she runs towards Herbie. Herbie sees her and ejects his current driver through the sunroof. Herbie does a somersault type maneuver and picks up Maggie and she drives around the ring and eventually crushes the Monster truck that was ready to destroy Herbie.

Maggie and the now smashed up Herbie limp back to Kevin's garage. Meanwhile, back at Peyton Racing, Ray Jr qualifies for that weekends Nascar race but crashes and injures himself after qualifying. The doctor won't let him race. Ray Jr tells his dad that the only person that can race now is Maggie. Ray refuses. Maggie is the spitting image of his dead wife and he won't lose her twice. Back at Kevins garage, a dejected Maggie and Kevin are trying to decide what to do with Herbie. Kevin is out of money. Suddenly, the Peyton Racing team show up led by Ray Jr. He says his dad always wanted him to take more of a leadership role with the team and he's doing that now. He tells Maggie that he wants her to drive. Maggie says, to Herbie's delight, that she learned her lesson. She'll do it but only if she drives Herbie. Ray Jr. agrees and the next thing you know (start up the Rocky music) Herbie is being transformed by the Peyton team into a real Nascar race car. The race is the next day and Herbie is instantly the crowd favorite. The race begins and the real racers take off leaving Herbie and Maggie in the dust. They can't believe how fast those cars go. Eventually Herbie catches up with them and the race is on. Herbie is fighting it out with the leaders and they are boxing him in. Maggie is getting scared and doesn't know what to do. Suddenly a voice comes over her headset. It's her father! He's prouder than ever and is determined to help coach her to a victory. Herbie does some amazing moves and wins the race!

Trip is furious and is taken away in an ambulance, not because he's hurt, but because he is going crazy, shouting and screaming that Herbie is alive. Maggie's dreams of being a Nascar champion have come true and she and Herbie are adored by the crowd and by especially, her father. That night we see Ray come out of the house and look out. We can't see who he is talking to but he is telling them not to stay out too late, typical father type advice. We then see that he's talking to Herbie and Sally's car, a newer VW Bug. The two cars slowly drive away.

Freaky Friday is 2003 teen comedy starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis as a daughter and mother whose bodies are switched because of an enchanted Chinese fortune cookie. It is a remake of the 1970s original which starred Jodie Foster. It is based on a novel by Mary Rodgers. This is Lindsay Lohan's first theatrical movie since the 1998 film, The Parent Trap. It is the second and final remake of the classic Freaky Friday film.

Psychologist Dr. Tess Coleman and her daughter, rocker chick Anna, are facing some problems in their relationship. After losing her husband, Tess decides to get remarried and gets engaged to her fiancé, Ryan. Her wedding rehearsal is planned on a Friday; however, this turns out to be the same day that Anna's band's, Pink Slip's, audition at the House of Blues is scheduled on.

Anna tells her mother about the audition at a dinner at the House of Chang, a Chinese restaurant. Tess refuses to allow Anna to go to the audition due to the fact that both the rehearsal and the audition are set for the same date. They argue hotly until Pei-Pei's mother arrives with two Chinese fortune cookies. After taking the fortune cookies and fighting more, Anna storms off into the bathroom, which she locks. Locked out, Tess opens the fortune cookie; Anna does the same. They read the fortune together, which Anna replies to with, "Whatever." An earthquake suddenly occurs immediately after the reading of the fortune, and Anna and Tess go back to their table. Apparently, no one else felt the earthquake but Anna and Tess.

At midnight, Anna and Tess switch bodies. The next morning, Anna discovers that she was in her mother's body and that Tess was in her daughter's body. They decide to be each other for the day until lunchtime, when they plan on going to House of Chang and switching back to their original bodies. This attempt turns out to be futile, as Pei-Pei explains that she "cannot fix it." She goes on to say that they must switch back themselves. Anna and Tess decide to be each other until the end of the day. The rest of the day includes a series of different scenarios, including Tess's taking Anna's placement test (she ends up being sabotaged by Stacey Kinkhouse, Anna's nemesis), Anna's being on a daytime TV talk show (she is carried by the audience toward the end), and Anna's attending Harry's teacher-parent conference (where she finds out Harry, despite how annoying he can be, genuinely cares for and loves his sister). Jake, Anna's crush with the Ducati motorcycle, falls for Anna, whom he thinks is Tess. While preparing for the wedding rehearsal, Tess talks to Anna about Anna's antagonism against Ryan; it is implied that Anna is hostile because Ryan is not her biological father. They go to the wedding rehearsal, where Anna's bandmates plan to capture Tess and take her along to the audition. Their plan is foiled, as they are caught by security guards. Anna says what she thinks Ryan thinks of their band ("it's just a stupid rock band"), but Ryan allows the bandmates and Tess to go the audition. Ryan then tells Anna that the marriage will not work if Tess thinks he is an insensitive stepfather. Ryan tells Anna to go to the audition, saying that she should be cheering the band on. Anna sees Ryan in a completely new light here and kisses Ryan on the cheek before she leaves.

At the audition, Tess cannot play the guitar at all - she attempts to play it, but she only ends up making feedback noises. Anna meets Tess backstage, says that she has unplugged Tess's guitar, and tells her to play like Keith Richards. In the end, Anna plugs her own guitar and plays for Tess backstage. Jake sees Tess (in Anna's body) and falls for her. The band makes the audition, partly in due to the guitar solo, which the audience was emphatic about. Tess and Anna go back to the rehearsal. Tess tells Anna here to postpone the wedding, saying that she "wasn't thinking what was best for [Anna] and Harry." Anna proposes a toast, saying that although no one can replace her father, someone can be a part of their family. At this moment, Anna and Tess switch back. The following day, Tess gets married to Ryan, and Jake arrives, dances with, and kisses Anna (implying that they are or will become in a relationship).

Harry and his grandfather are sitting at a table. His grandfather says that youth is wasted on the young, to which Harry replies with, "you old fart." Pei-Pei's mother sees this and comes to their table with two fortune cookies. Pei-Pei realizes the mischief her mother is conniving, and she tackles Harry and his grandfather, taking the fortune cookies in the process.

The movie ends with Anna's singing the song "Ulitmate."

Freaky Friday turned out to be a box office success. It grossed USD$110,230,332, making it Lindsay Lohan's biggest movie to date.

Life-Size is a 2000 made-for-TV film that originally premiered on ABC and was directed by Mark Rosman. The 89-minute film tells the story of a comic fantasy starring Lindsay Lohan and Tyra Banks in a tale of a young girl's toy that is magically transformed into a truly living doll. While based on a fairly unreal premise, the television movie explores some very real issues facing children of the modern era and suggests through the plot that the ideal world is inherently flawed.

Unhappy and lonely after her mother's death, Casey (Lohan) attempts to resurrect her mother, but a minor mishap changes the results of her spell and brings an unwanted doll named Eve (Banks) to life instead. Eve is elated when she first encounters the smells and flavors of real life, but is shocked to realize that she's not the perfect role model she's always considered herself to be.

Casey initially despises Eve – she never wanted this doll in the first place and now she's ruined her chances of bringing her mother back to life. But as Eve grows, she brings out the best in Casey, encouraging her to renew old friendships and spurring personal growth and healing. Even Casey's father (Jere Burns) rises above his grief and builds a better relationship with his daughter as a result of his interaction with Eve.

The Parent Trap (1998) is a remake of the original Parent Trap from 1961, starring Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson and introducing Lindsay Lohan. The story is based on Erich Kästner's Lottie and Lisa (Das Doppelte Lottchen).

Plot synopsis
Hallie Parker (Lohan) is an 11-year-old girl growing up in the Napa Valley with her father, Nicholas "Nick" Parker (Quaid), a successful vineyard owner and a viticulturist. Annie James (also played by Lohan) is a Londoner living with her wedding-gown-designer mother, Elizabeth "Lizzie" James (Richardson). The two were separated as babies when the parents were divorced and each took one child.

Neither twin knows the other exists until, by happenstance, they both are sent to Camp Walden in Maine for the summer. Rivals at first, the lookalikes soon discover the secret that had been kept from them, and concoct a plan to switch places to meet the parent each has never known and, perhaps, to reunite mum and dad. The plan takes on a new urgency when Annie, pretending to be Hallie, learns that her father is falling for his ambitious young publicist, Meredith Blake (Elaine Hendrix). They hatch a plan to get their parents back together...

Mean Girls is a 2004 film written by (and co-starring) Tina Fey. It stars Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert and Rachel McAdams and featured several Saturday Night Live cast members, including Tim Meadows, Ana Gasteyer, and Amy Poehler.

Director Mark Waters described the movie as "Clueless meets Heathers "[1], the latter of which was written by his brother, Daniel Waters. It was based on the non-fiction book Queen Bees and Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman, which describes how female high school social cliques operate, and the effect they can have on girls.

Reactions

In an interview about the film, Fey noted, "Adults find it funny. They are the ones who are laughing. Young girls watch it like a Reality television show. It's much too close to their real experiences so they are not exactly guffawing." [2].

Though the movie was inspired by the book Queen Bees and Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman, another non-fiction book for teens, Mean Girls: Facing Your Beauty Turned Beast authored by Hayley DiMarco, was released at the same time as the movie.[citation needed] DiMarco had previously written Dateable: Are You? Are They? and is credited with creating the Biblezine concept while at Thomas Nelson Publishers. * Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) - The main character of the film. Cady is a teenager that has just moved to North Shore High School after spending her whole life in Africa. She first makes friends with Janis and Damian, but is invited to have lunch with the Plastics. She also develops a crush on Aaron Samuels, who is Regina's ex-boyfriend. When Regina betrays Cady by starting to go out with Aaron again,, she concocts a plan with her other friends to get even. Despite her anger at Regina, Cady eventually gets caught up in the world of the Plastics. She is also really good at math. At the end of the movie she realizes that all the gossiping and backstabbing is pointless.

* Regina George (Rachel McAdams) - Regina is "Teen royalty" and the leader of the Plastics. Whether intentional or unintentional, this is reflected in her name; Regina being Latin for "Queen" and George being the name of several famous monarchs. She is both feared and desperately admired by the other female students, who gossip about her supposedly fabulous life and are pleased to be physically assaulted by Regina. She also has a tendency to compliment others and then insult them behind their backs. Regina is very rich and spoiled by her parents. Throughout the film she claims she wants to lose 3 lbs. Apparently she has had a nose job and was once best friends with Janis (before blowing her off for a boy and claiming she is a lesbian.) When she realizes Cady is stealing her life, she spreads the Burn Book around and is eventually hit by a bus. In senior year, she takes up sports to use up her rage. Regina dates Shane Oman. Aaron Samuels is actually Regina's ex-boyfriend, she dumped him for Shane.

* Janis Ian (Lizzy Caplan) - Sarcastic and artistic, Janis is one of Cady's first friends at North Shore. She loathes the Plastics (especially Regina) and is best friends with Damian. In Middle School, she was best friends with Regina, who later claimed Janis was a lesbian when she became upset they were no longer spending time together (as a result of Regina's first boyfriend). Regina told everyone Janis was a lesbian, causing her to drop out of school for a period and coming back completely different. At the end of the film she begins dating Kevin Gnapoor. It's possible the character of Janis was loosely based off of real life folk singer Janis Ian, who performed at the first episode of SNL, but another possibility is that she is named after late rock singer Janis Joplin.

* Gretchen Wieners (Lacey Chabert) - Gretchen is one of the Plastics, and possibly Regina's closest friend (or at least confidante). She is very wealthy because her father invented Toaster Strudel . Partially as a result of Cady, Janis and Damian's scheme, she begins to crack, spilling many of Regina's deepest secrets to Cady in anger at being treated badly by her friend. Throughout the film, she likes Jason, a flirtatious pervert. In senior year, she dyes her hair, learns Vietnamese and hangs out with the "cool Asians" so she can continue her life as a "worker bee".

* Damian (Daniel Franzese) - Damian is described by Janis as "too gay to function". He is best friends with Janis and later good friends with Cady. He is in the student planning committee and enjoys singing. Damian has no qualms about using the woman's bathroom, and goes to the girl's workshop in disguise.

* Karen Smith (Amanda Seyfried) - Karen is also a member of the Plastics, Damian claims Karen is the "dumbest girl you'll ever meet". She is failing almost everything and claims her breasts can predict the weather (although she usually predicts the current weather). Karen also mentions that she thinks her cousin is a good kisser, believing it to be okay as she thinks the order of relations is "cousin, first cousin, second cousin..." She turns against Regina when she discovers Regina thinks she is a slut and begins following Cady (along with Gretchen).

* Ms. Norbury (Tina Fey) - Ms. Norbury is Cady's calculus teacher. At the beginning of the film she reveals that she recently was divorced from her husband. When it is revealed Cady wrote that she was a drug pusher in the Burn Book, she has to be investigated by the police. She is also the supervisor for the Mathletes, and orchestrates the junior girl's workshop.

* Aaron Samuels (Jonathan Bennett) - Aaron is a senior and becomes Cady's crush. He used to date Regina before she broke up with him, but they get back together (later breaking up when he discovers she was cheating on him). Aaron plays soccer and likes Cady, but becomes angry when he learns she lied about being bad at calculus and saying he had been Regina's property.

* Mr. Duvall (Tim Meadows) - Mr. Duvall is the principal of North Shore. Throughout the film he has to wear a cast because he developed carpal tunnel. He attempts to make the girls understand each other when the Burn Book is revealed, but quickly passes it over to Ms Norbury when he realizes "girl problems" may be too much for him.

* Kevin Gnapoor (Rajiv Surendra) - The captain of the Mathletes and a wannabe MC. Throughout the film it is hinted that he is attracted to Janis, and they begin dating after Spring Fling.

* Coach Carr (Dwayne Hill) - He is generally shown teaching health class, expressly demanding his students not to have sex (as it will ultimately lead to them becoming pregnant and dying). He is also caught making out with Trang Pak, but has also been seen with Sun Jin Dinh.

Box office
The movie was declared an instant success after its opening weekend made the film $24.4 million and the #1 film in America at 2,839 theaters.[3] Due to strong word of mouth, Mean Girls had a long life at the box office and finished its run with $86,058,055. In its second weekend in theaters, the movie had a drop-off in ticket sales of 44% and 26% the following week. It was later nominated for the prestigious WGA Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Lola (Lindsay Lohan), a teenager, moves with her family from New York City to the suburbs in New Jersey. Her self-centered attitude then gets a reality check as she begins to realize she must compete against the already popular girl, Carla (Megan Fox). She befriends an unpopular girl named Ella, as they both share a love for the fictional band Sidarthur (spelling as in script, however somethimes interpreted as Sidhartha or Sid Arthur - possibly a play on Sid Vicious and Sidhartha), whose lead singer, Stu Wolf (Adam Garcia), Lola has a crush on. Lola tries out for the school play, a modern version of Pygmalion named "Eliza Rocks". After getting the part of Eliza over her brand-new enemy Carla, the resentment between them grows. What comes next is an annoucement over the radio that Sidarthur has broken up and that Stu Wolf does not ever want to work with the band again.

Lola and Ella are devastated. Lola and Carla end up challenging each other on the dancing machine after school at an arcade. While there Carla reveals that she already has tickets to Sidarthur's sold-out farewell concert due to her father being Stu Wolf's lawyer (mentioned earlier in the movie) as a revenge against Lola. Lola wins the dancing machine game and earns some respect from the others. Lola tries to get tickets as well in order to upset Carla. Because she was grounded and had no allowance, Lola asked Sam, a friend who kind of adores her to "borrow" Eliza's dress and he nearly gets caught when Miss Baggoli gives the performers a break from training and goes to the drama room but she is distracted by Lola while Sam hides first as a mannequin then behind a mirror before exiting behind Miss Baggoli's back. Ella offers to pay for the both of them first. After failing to obtain tickets legally, Ella and Lola take a train to New York City in order to buy tickets from a scalper. But things don't go as well as they thought. Lola had left her bag behind the sink on the train, and so don't have enough money to pay the scalper for illegal tickets. They try to get in, but a bouncer stops them. They walk the streets trying to find Stu's after-show party, but Lola's dad and his dog is following them; however, he promises to back off but threatens to come in if he sees anything wrong. He tails them from a bigger distance. They finally get in and have some fun. At the end, Carla Santini is having a party when Stu turns up, trying to find Lola. The last scene shown is about Lola and Sam, kissing in front of a fountain in Carla's house.

Lindsay Morgan Lohan was born in New York City on July 2, 1986. Her mother Dina is a former Radio City "Rockette" while her father Michael was a long-time Wall Street trader before he struck it rich with a family pasta business. He has now redirected his energies into film development and producing.

Along with her three younger siblings, Michael, Aliana and Dakota, Lindsay was raised in Long Island. Lindsay was such a natural beauty that she began modeling at the age of 3. In fact, she was the first redheaded child ever signed by the renowned Ford Modeling Agency.

But Lindsay Lohan wasn't just a pretty child; she was also talented. Capitalizing on her flair for performing, she was cast in over 60 TV commercials for companies such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Wendy's, the Gap, Pizza Hut, Calvin Klein, and Jell-O, in which she shared the screen with Bill Cosby.

When she was 7, Lindsay was required to dress up as garbage for a Halloween skit on the Late Show with David Letterman called "Things You Find on the Bottom of the Subway." It was her first real acting job.

In 1996, Lindsay got her second big break when she was cast on the long-running NBC soap opera, Another World. For only one season, she became the third actress to portray Alexandra "Alli" Fowler.

Shortly after, she hit the highway to fame when Disney sought to remake the hugely successful family comedy, The Parent Trap (1961). There was a six-month casting search and in January 1997, Lindsay got a phone call from director Nancy Meyers to announce that she had received the role that Hayley Mills made popular in the early '60s.

In the 1998 version, Lindsay starred as estranged twin sisters Hallie Parker and Annie James, who meet for the first time while at summer camp and later devise a plan to make their parents fall in love again. Not only was it a blockbuster, but Lindsay also came away with a Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress, which she shared with Jena Malone (Stepmom).

In addition, she also got a three-picture deal with Disney, thanks to this movie. Although she turned down the part of Penny in Inspector Gadget (1999), her next move was to appear in the Wonderful World of Disney production of Life-Size (2000), a comedy also featuring supermodel Tyra Banks.

In 2000, Bette Midler was slated to star in a new sitcom called Bette, and Lindsay was cast as her daughter, Rose. But once the pilot was shot, the producers decided to move the production from New York to Los Angeles. Wanting to stay in New York, Lindsay left the sitcom. The show moved to California, actress Marina Malota replaced Lindsay, and 16 episodes later, Bette was canceled.

This left Lohan with some free time and she spent it shooting the Disney Channel Original Movie of the Month, Get a Clue (2002), in which she played a snooty school gossip columnist out to discover what happened to a missing teacher. After shooting, she took a short break from acting.

During this period, Lindsay decided to concentrate on her musical career. Having been in the entertainment industry for most of her life, she had received quite a few useful phone numbers over the years. In September 2002, music heavyweight Emilio Estefan, Jr. took Lindsay under his wing. She signed a five-album deal with Estefan Enterprises.

Next on her plate was another remake of a Disney classic. Along with Jamie Lee Curtis, Lohan was cast in Freaky Friday (2003) and reprised one of the early roles that made Jodie Foster a household name.

The body-swapping fantasy grossed over $100 million US domestically and allowed Lindsay to showcase her singing abilities in the movie. In fact, it's because of her song "Ultimate" that the soundtrack was propelled to Billboard's Top 20 in less than three weeks.

Then, Lindsay permanently relocated to Los Angeles and became child star Raven-Symone's roommate before briefly dating Aaron Carter (younger brother of Nick Carter, of Backstreet Boys fame). This became a favorite topic among gossip columnists, especially when Lindsay and Hilary Duff began feuding publicly over the teen pop star.

Lindsay got back in the saddle with the critically- and financially-disappointing Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004). A few months later, she made everyone forget about it by starring in the hit Mean Girls (2004), alongside Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert and Amanda Seyfried.

One of 2004's youngest "It" girls could soon be seen everywhere, from hosting Saturday Night Live in May and the MTV Movie Awards in June 2004, to appearing in magazines and tabloid TV shows. In 2005, Lindsay Lohan can add the movies Herbie: Fully Loaded (another Disney flick), Gossip Girl and Fashionistas to her resume. And she's staying busy well into 2007, with the release of I Dream of Jeannie in 2006 and Dramarama the following year.

As if Hollywood success weren't enough, Lindsay seems to be setting out to become a triple threat with the release of her debut album Speak in December 2004. But when she performed "Rumors" -- the first single off the album -- on Good Morning America, rumors began to swirl that she lip-synced, because there was a backing track playing.

When she's not on a movie set or at a photo shoot, Lindsay enjoys spending her free time rollerblading, swimming, doing gymnastics, and, according to tabloids, partying the night away.
